If your dog ran away recently, then you have most likely been feeling really sad and stressed out about this. Fortunately, there are a wide variety of different things that you can do to help get your dog back home to you safely. 

1. Seize The Power Of Flyers 

When your dog goes missing, one of the very first things that you can do is get some flyers made up. There are several different ways that you can distribute these flyers. You can hang them up on bulletin boards at local stores and businesses in your area.

You should definitely make sure that you put a recent photo of your dog on the flyer. It's best to use a close up shot of your dog if you happen to have one available. You should also make sure that you include your dog's name on the flyer as well as your name and contact information. You might want to consider putting some sort of reward offer on the flyer. 2. Organize a Search Party 

Another great way to find your missing dog is by organizing a search party. Your friends, family, or even some of your neighbors would probably be more than happy to help you with this. This should be done as quickly as possible and preferably just as soon as you realize that your dog has gone missing. If you go looking for your dog right away, then hopefully it won't have traveled very far yet. 

Before you leave your yard and start searching for your dog, make sure you bring a flashlight with you. Once it gets dark out, it will definitely be more difficult to locate your dog but having a flashlight with you should help make things a lot easier. 

3. Visit Your Local Animal Shelter

You should also be sure to go visit your local animal shelter to see if they happen to have your dog there. It's definitely best to go visit them in person rather than simply calling them on the phone to inquire about your dog. Although the animal shelter might very well have your dog, the person that answers the phone might not necessarily be aware of it.
